Thomas Zurek, VP of SAP HANA BW development, blogs on the “HANA EDW”—but before you get riled up about some new SAPanese terminology, give Zurek a chance and read his piece (especially for those of you with “future of my BW investment?” questions).

SAP mobility was a big topic in the blogosphere this week, as SAP mentor Dick Hirsch took a gander at the popularity of SAP’s mobile apps. A related post, by developer John Moy, examines the statistics for a free app that Moy published a few years ago, called myHelp for SAP pros.

“Big Data broke BI.” That’s the sentiment of this Wired.com post by Doron Aspitz of Verix. Agree?

The IDG News Service’s Chris Kanaracus reports that SAP “has filed a court action against patent holder Pi-Net International, which it says has filed patent infringement lawsuits against a number of SAP customers.” The suit relates to SAP’s Financial Fusion software, which, Kanaracus reports, came via the Sybase acquisition.

Scott Wallask over at BusinessObjects Experts says that SAP is rekindling its relationship with legacy BOBJ customers. (It’s amazing what a candle or two, a good bottle of wine and Lionel Richie music can do, isn’t it?)

It was kind of shocking that the SAP trumpets weren’t heralding the announcement of a couple of new SAP Business Suite on HANA customers, but here they are: India’s Avon Cycles and China’s Nongfu Spring, notes Thailand’s The Nation.

SAP Mentor Jon Reed’s got something to say:Why the SAP training results from Michael Management’s survey bother me.”

The headline might imply a heavy dose of SAP marketing, but it’s worth the read: How SAP Labs India Became an Innovation Dynamo.

The speakers and sessions have been locked down, the show floor spaces designated and the 3 billion gallons of coffee ordered—it’s almost time for ASUG Annual Conference. Here we offer a look at ASUG’s annual event by breaking down and out some interesting numbers. … Don’t forget to take ASUG’s SAP HANA survey. … Innovation is critical to success, but not all companies experience the same success rate. Here’s a look at why that is in the Monday Metric.
