Orlando, HERE WE COME! ASUG Annual Conference 2013 kicks off in just over a month. And once again, the event is co-located with SAP’s Sapphire Now extravaganza.

The speakers and sessions have been locked down, the show floor spaces designated, the keynote speakers have all signed on and the 3 billion gallons of coffee ordered—it’s almost game time.

ASUG members, as always, are readying their slide decks to share their front-line experiences in breakout session rooms and in the ASUG Lounge. It is in within these spaces and hour-long sessions that—to paraphrase The Real World—people stop being polite…and start getting real. (As I’ve said before: Up on the big stages they may talk the talk, but in the ASUG sessions and breakout rooms, people walk the walk.)

Here we offer a look at ASUG’s annual event by breaking down and out some interesting numbers associated with the gathering:

Sunday, May 12, is Mother’s Day, so do something nice for your No. 1 Mom before you head to the airport.

Though the event may officially kick off on Tuesday, everyone who’s anyone knows the event really starts on Monday: ASUG hosts 12 pre-conference seminars. These “PreCons,” as they are called, give attendees a head start on soaking up the event’s stellar content. Don’t miss any of them!

There are 40 educational tracks teeming with superb ASUG content that feature more than 600 customer-selected sessions. Seriously, where else do you get that kind of in-depth, on-the-front-lines educational opportunity? (That was a rhetorical question, by the way, because there’s nowhere else.)

So, you might be wondering…who picked all of these great sessions for the attendees. Well, here’s your answer: 60+ hearty volunteers poured over more than 2,000 abstract submissions for the ASUG sessions.

The 1 and only Agenda Builder is open for business, so start building your schedule!

New this year is the “Industry Days” program: ASUG Industry Days will provide an opportunity for SAP professionals in 8 distinct industries to learn and collaborate in a dedicated space. (More information here.)

By the way: Does winning an iPad 4 sound like something you might be interested in? Go here and tell us “How the 2013 ASUG Annual Conference Will Power Your World” (deadline: April 8). You can win Apple’s tablet device as well as complimentary conference registration for a colleague or client.

ASUG Influence is something you’re probably familiar with, but what does it look like in practice? Participate in one of the more than a dozen ASUG Influence sessions at Annual Conference.

Want another way to get your feedback to SAP? Go inside the SAP User Experience Usability Testing area and kick the tires on 20 SAP products during hundreds of testing sessions. Reserve your space here.

It was the place to be last year and it will be again: The ASUG Lounge will host 39 Community meetings in 3 pods this year. Also be sure to check out the ultra-cool mobility area. Plus, the lounge is just a fun place to chill, network with other members and grab some H20.

The ASUGNews Broadcast Studio (situated in the ASUG Lounge) will be broadcasting 40 live interview sessions with more than 50 ASUG members, SAP executives and industry big-shots from the show floor. (Check out asugonline.com to see all the action during and after the conference.)

1 special ASUG Annual Conference guest: Best-selling author, entrepreneur and marketing expert Seth Godin will be keynoting on Tuesday afternoon. (Note: Godin’s keynote is preceded by speeches by ASUG CEO Bridgette Chambers and ASUG Chairman Michael Stoko.)

And, as always, be sure to wear comfortable shoes, since you’re likely to walk approximately 72 miles during the event.
